Holy Apostles is one of five Episcopal churches which together raise money and sponsor Operation Backpack, which provides backpacks and school supplies to over three hundred students who participate in Emmanuel Episcopal Center's (EEC’s) programs. All supplies are purchased in bulk from the churches’ donations; in 2012, Holy Apostles raised over $1,200 for this effort. The EEC students actually “shop” for supplies in a store environment, where they are assisted by volunteers from Holy Apostles and the other churches. This activity is one in which the entire family can participate and share in the joy of getting to know the EEC students and helping them gather their school supplies. Information on supporting Operation Backpack will be announced each year near the beginning of the school year.
