WELCOME TO HOLY APOSTLES

We extend a cordial welcome to you to worship with us, and offer these notes as a brief introduction to Church of the Holy Apostles, and to the Episcopal Church and its ways.

Worship Times
There are three worship services each Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. (Holy Eucharist with Children’s Chapel), at 11:15 a.m. (Holy Eucharist) and at 5:15 p.m. (Contemplative Bluegrass Mass).  A Nursery is available during the two morning services.  If you have small children, come a little early, so that you can drop them off in the Nursery which is conveniently located along the corridor connecting the church with the Parish Life Center.

Worship Service
As you enter the doors to the narthex of the church, an usher will hand you a service leaflet.  This leaflet contains all the directions for what to do, including text for the readings, when to sit and stand, and how Communion works.  If you are new to the Episcopal Church, please do not hesitate to ask the person next to you in the pew for help in becoming accustomed to the service of Holy Eucharist.  So that we can get to know you better, please fill out a Visitors Card located in the pew rack.

Fellowship
Join us in the Parish Life Center for the coffee social immediately following the 9:00 a.m. worship service.  Be sure to look for our greeters with red ribbons on their nametags.  They’re here to assist you with questions or directions to Sunday School classes or other Holy Apostles activities.

Orientation and Tour
If you would like a personal orientation and tour of the church, please contact Lee Carpenter or call the church office to make arrangements.  We'd be delighted to show you around and answers questions you might have.

You Will Not Be Embarassed
When you visit the Church of the Holy Apostles, you will be our respected and welcome guest.  You will not be singled out in any way.  You are invited to share in the worship of God with us.

Membership Information
If you'd like to become a member of this parish, or to take instructions for baptism, confirmation, or reception, please contact our Rector or call the church office at 901-937-3830.  There are three ways to become a member of Holy Apostles:

  • by transfer from another Episcopal Church
  • by transfer from another Christian denomination
  • by baptism

Explorers Class
Whether you are a life-long Episcopalian, new to the area, or seeking a completely new and different church experience we encourage you to attend one of our Explorers Class Series, offered periodically throughout the year.  The class will introduce you to the Episcopal Church, cover what the Episcopal Church and in particular Church of the Holy Apostles believes, and discusses The Book of Common Prayer, some church history, our Christian Formation, stewardship, music, and youth and children's programs.  For more information about our Adult Confirmation Class, contact the Rector at 901-937-3830.
