I too decided, after investigating everything carefully from the very first, to write an orderly account for you . . . so that you may know the truth concerning the things about which you have been instructed. ~Luke 1:3-4
This Lent and Easter, join fellow disciples throughout the Episcopal Church in reading through the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. The Good Book Club is an exciting church-wide initiative based on the conviction that regular and devoted engagement with the Bible is a central component of spiritual growth, both for individuals and for parishes.
Planned in cooperation with Forward Movement, the Good Book Club will provide a daily reading schedule, taking us through Luke during Lent and then journeying through Acts during the fifty days of Easter. A variety of supplemental resources are being made available, including the Lent/Easter edition of Forward Day by Day, which will be following the Luke/Acts reading schedule in place of the regular Daily Office readings.
Here at Church of the Holy Apostles, we will offer a weekly gathering on Sunday mornings to share and discuss our experience of the previous week’s reading. A weeknight gathering may also be offered, as needed.
The reading schedule begins on February 11th, the Last Sunday after the Epiphany. Additional information will be forthcoming, and you can find out more at: www.goodbookclub.org
Please Note: If you can't make the meeting on Sunday morning, there are other times available!
Thursdays @ 12:00 p.m. (bring a packed lunch. This meeting will last about 45 minutes.)
