The Rev. John P. Leach, Rector

John comes to Holy Apostles having served as Vicar, then Rector of Church of the Annunciation in Cordova, Tennessee.  Prior to entering seminary, John was the Director of Youth Ministry at Church of the Holy Communion in Memphis.  During that time he also served as the Diocesan Youth Coordinator.  About his ministry at Holy Apostles, John said, “There is a spirit of enthusiasm and joy at Holy Apostles that creates opportunities for meaningful worship, dynamic Christian education and genuine fellowship.  The congregation is wonderfully aware of their role as Christians in the immediate community and in the larger world.”

John is married to the former Lisa Lichterman and they have two teenage children, Sarah Hunter and Henry.  Lisa is a member at the law firm of Kiesewetter Wise Kaplan Prather.

He enjoys sports, especially SEC football and Memphis Tiger basketball, reading history and biographies, and tries to find time for an occasional game of golf.  John is also passionate about cooking with his smoker and outdoor grill.

John holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and the Master in Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia.  He is currently a candidate for the Doctor in Ministry degree from Virginia Theological Seminary.
